Welcome to our activities! At the core of our activities there is Contrast Cafe, an evening with food and ‘gezelligheid’ on the second Friday of each month. We meet at Plexat, Oude Singel 152. For more information about Contrast Cafe and our other activities, you can open the boxes below. If you want to make sure you won’t miss a thing, join our facebook community or apply for our e-mail newsletter or Whatsapp group.Contrast Cafe
Contrast Cafe is organized each second Friday of the month. The evening starts with a shared hot meal (free of charge). Of course you can also drop by after dinner. Every cafe night has its own theme, ranging from a Sinterklaas eve to a folk dance party. Contrast Cafe is all about food, fun and friendship. It is a great place to meet Dutch and international students in a relaxed atmosphere.Dinner Buddy Project
Since we didn’t want to sit still during corona times, but rather continue to connect International students and Dutch students, we are starting the Dinner Buddy project. If you join our project, we will link you to a Dutch student. The idea is that you have dinner together twice, where you prepare a meal for each other. Preferably a meal that is specific for your country. We believe that this will be a lot of fun, and it will give you the opportunity to get to know some more Dutch students in Leiden. For more information, click the link below.Alpha Course
If you are not a Christian but interested in what Christianity is about and what it means to be a Christian, then the Alpha Course is for you. We get together in small groups once every few weeks. We have dinner together and afterwards we discuss a theme. If you want more information before you join, feel free to contact us!Bible Study Group
Together with Radiate (the student group of the International Church of Leiden) we organize a weekly Bible study. We get together in a small group each Tuesday at Plexat. We share a meal, pray, sing, and study the Bible. You can sign up via the contact form on this website.Other Events
Extra events can be anything. For an instance, we regularly visit Bach cantata services together, organize an apple pie baking workshop, make a trip to one of the beautiful Dutch towns or get on the saddle for a cycling trip through the country.Your idea
It ain’t the board who make Contrast as it is, but it’s the visitors! So, if you’ve got an idea for any activity which may be interesting for international students, we invite you to share it with us via the contact form on this website!
